D. Castillo-Barnes received the degree in Telecommunications Engineering in 2012. After some time working at the private sector, he started his Ph.D in 2016 at the University of Granada. He has authored several papers in high-impact journals in signal processing in medical imaging, computer aided diagnosis systems, machine learning, and image processing fields. He has served as reviewer for several international journals and even promoted to review-editor for Frontiers.
